Managed Benefit Plans Inc.
Managed Benefit Plans, Inc (MBP) is a Third Party Administrator located in Hackettstown, NJ. MBP was established in February 2001.
MBP’s focus is the administration of health care plans for employers who self-fund their benefit plans. MBP also provides HR outsourcing services i.e. “OneBill” our consolidated billing service and the coordination of enrollment services offering both on-line and paper enrollment.
The staff at MBP are experienced insurance / service professionals. Each member of our management team has over fifteen years of industry experience. Our claim system provides Internet eligibility, and claim status for the employer, employee and provider, along with a 24/7 telephone VRU that provides claim and eligibility verification along with instant request for faxed data.
MBP’s administrative services provide each employer with an account manager who provides ongoing service, including but not limited to, plan building, implementation, ID Card and SPD production as well as acting as the intermediary to our claims and customer service departments. Each client is part of a claim and customer service team accessing a toll free 800 # for inquiries referring to their specific benefit plan. Our telephone system monitors call activity for number, length and abandonment.
MBP maintains affiliations with two URAC accredited medical management companies, who provide a direct interface into our claims system for both U/R and medical management. Each offers a menu of additional cost saving services including drug interaction studies.
MBP maintains relationships with national stop loss carriers and MGU’s. In the current market, it is imperative to retain and explore new opportunities for all existing and potential clients. All carriers are A rated or better.
MBP partners with a national “wrap network”, which offers our clients the opportunity to achieve a discount for claims that are out of their primary PPO network. Out of network claims are electronically forwarded to the “wrap” vender daily. The “wrap network” applies the largest available discounts from the 70 national and regional networks with whom they have contracts.
MBP employs all industry methodology available to provide the employer with the tools to reduce the cost of their employee’s claims while maintaining or enhancing the quality of services received.

. A 24/7 automated voice response system that verifies an employee’s eligibility status, his/her deductible information, explanation of benefits and claim status.
. A forms-design package that will create all documents ranging from checks and invoices to COBRA coupons and HIPAA certificates.

. On line management of the employer’s eligibility through MBP’s web site.
. UCR, CPT and claim edit modules integrated into the claim system providing instant review of the latest codes and claim edits. These are updated semi-annually from Ingenix and Bloodhound.
. EDI repricing of PPO claims.
. FSA, HSA , HRA and COBRA administration.
. Comprehensive standard financial reports and customized specialty reports for reinsurance companies insuring a more timely reimbursement of excess stop loss claims.
. “ClaimsMail” MBP’s email notification of receipt, pended status and completion of a claim for both employee and provider.
. Electronic communication with all Insurance carriers for eligibility and changes associated with “OneBill”, the consolidated billing and on-line enrollment services.
